Link Requests and Exchanges

I am happy to consider adding a link to any website that you think my visitors might find useful.

You are also welcome to link to me. If you link to me, I ask that you please refer to my site as Tim’s Missouri Employment Law Info Site in the link text.

Send an email to me by clicking here, please: Link Requests. Tell me the URL of the website you wish me to link to, and why. If you wish to exchange links, tell me the URL where you would place my link, and the anchor text you would prefer for your own link.

Here’s my linking philosophy:

  • I link primarily to websites that I think my visitors might find useful. I do not require a reciprocal link, although I might ask for one.
  • If I do not think the site will have much appeal to my visitors, I tend not to link to it. Some employment law related sites get a lot of visitors and seem “popular” in search engines, but when I visit I don’t like them very much, so I don’t link to them. You’ve got to watch out for sites that are primarily selling commercial products and try to lure you in with little snippets of info. Search engines find the snippets of info, and so the sites rank well when you see the search results. But when you get there, you say “Where’s the beef?”
  • I have a pretty big problem linking to any site that does not provide its own links page linking to external resources. There is a philosophy among some websites, primarily those selling things, that it’s bad to provide links to sources of info outside of your own website. The theory goes: Keep the visitors here on your site, so they’ll buy from you. Respectable private websites will provide a significant number of links to external sources of further information.
  • Pure link exchanges are ok in theory, but I have not been active in seeking them. If another site is potentially interesting enough for my visitors that I might want to link to it, I’ll probably just link to it anyway when I learn about it, whether or not the site links to me. If the other site is not very interesting to my visitors, I doubt that I would want to link to it just because the other site is willing to link to me. But I might. For one example, as time goes on I expect to eventually find the other legal info websites, that are probably already out on the web, focusing on particular states’ laws. Someday, I’d like to have a page listing the sites, categorized by state. If I get a link exchange request from such a site, I’d probably agree to it.
  • I would always consider linking to the homepage of an employment lawyer.
  • I would also consider link exchanges with sites that have nothing to do with law, but that might fit within my Non-legal stuff page, or my page about Learning HTML coding and website building.

Send an email to me by clicking here, please: Link Requests. Tell me the URL of the website you wish me to link to, and why. If you wish to exchange links, tell me the URL where you would place my link, and the anchor text you would prefer for your own link. I prefer anchor text as follows: Tim’s Missouri Employment Law Info Site.

[PLEASE NOTE: Be very careful with directions that you might get on-line, with regard to my office, due to a quirk in Google. Google Maps sometimes gives strange results for my building's address, probably because there are multiple streets with similar names. Google sometimes says my building is South of I-270, but it's actually North of I-270. Use MY directions instead. Here are directions to my office, with aerial photos and map..]
