The BJC health system is mandating flu shots, and I am getting calls and emails about it. Here are my quick and dirty thoughts —-

I am sorry to have to say the following:

Assuming that BJC’s order for flu shots applies to everyone under its control, or at least to large groups rather then selected individuals, there isn’t much you can do.
You can ask to be exempted on religious or disability grounds, if a flu shot conflicts with your religion or your disability.
If you refuse the flu shot and quit, or refuse and get fired, you will probably not get unemployment benefits unless you have a good religious or medical reason to have refused the shot.
