Missouri’s minimum wage changes every year.

Missouri has a decent minimum wage law now. Back in 2006, Missouri voters approved a progressive Missouri minimum wage law, requiring that the wage be adjusted as needed.

Missouri Minimum wage history:

  • Before the November 2006 election —- $5.15.
  • 2007 - $6.50, due to the election of November 2006.
  • 2008 - $6.65, after the required calculation and adjustment, to occur annually.
  • 2009 - $7.05 as of January 1, 2009
  • 2009 - $7.25 as of July 24, 2009 (to keep up with the Federal Minimum Wage increase)
  • 2010 - no word as of April 2010 on any changes

The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations will adjust the Minimum Wage each year based on the prior year’s Consumer Price Index

Here’s how the new Missouri minimum wage works: Every Fall, the Mo Department of Labor and Industrial Relations must do study using the Consumer Price Index, and then must determine what the minimum wage will be for the coming year.

Here’s the current Missouri Minimum Wage calculation page.
