Caution: TimsLaw.com audience is Missouri problems - Here’s Why
If you are not in my target audience, then your circumstances are automatically too complicated for this website’s general information articles to deal with.
I have not attempted, in my articles for this website, to anticipate the legal quirks of multi-state legal problems. For example, if you live outside Missouri and work (or worked) in Missouri, or live in Missouri but work (or worked) outside of Missouri, then it’s possible that multiple states’ laws could apply to your case, and multiple different “Circuits” of the federal court system could apply to your case. This is Far and Away too complex for me to cope with in general information employment law articles. I can cope with it in a consultation, because I can ask you questions.
Employment laws are different everywhere. Even the major Federal discrimination laws do not work the same in different states. That’s because each state has different courts, and the different courts interpret the laws differently. In my article Cautioning you not to consider general legal info to be a substitute for legal advice, I talk a lot more about things such as how courts make their decisions, and other things, which will give you some additional background to help you understand why the laws differ in different states, and why my general legal information website only focuses on Missouri.
